Since early on, working collage and Assemblage- the book format has held a fascination. Part Assemblage/ Construction and part “box” (a la Joseph Cornell)…. a big influence for all of my work since 1980.
I have made very few of these “books” over the decades. There is no reason for this. But in my “as of late motivations”, I wanted to focus on adding these to my on-going series of works.
In the concept of the books, I thought that the main thing about books is words…..Of course! I have been pairing quotes with images on my posts and found this a way to reconcile the tenets of the books and the paintings.
This page contains a new, experiment iteration of the book construction idea. There are also a few samples from past books that did get photographed. (See Archive Pages)
